Thursday Bikes and Beers Ride and other Events
Check this page often for updated listings of all types of cycling events in and around our area. Rides require, at minimum, an appropriate bike in good working order, water, and a helmet. We suggest a spare tube, energy food, maybe a little cash in case we stop, and your biggest smile! Many rides are held subject to weather. It's a good idea to confirm dates, time and any specific requirements, too. We'll see you out there — and have fun!
Thursday Bikes and Beers Ride
Our Thursday Bikes and Beers Ride starts in early April and runs through late September. Start time is 545pm all season long.
Our ride is different than most. Rather than the typical free-for-all, our ride is governed by a guide who controls the pace for the majority of the route. Speeds vary from 15-17mph on rollers to 20+mph on the flats. Not to worry, at no time will you be required to ride at the front. For those that have the need for speed, there are 4 "Free Ride" sections throughout the ride, all of which include an uphill where you can test your fitness. Riders are allowed to go as hard or as easy as they like through these sections and then stop and regroup at the end of each. There is plenty of recovery pacing with a few hard efforts. Average speed for the entire ride is approx 20mph.
To maintain safety on the road and to be respectful of motorists the following simple set of guidelines are asked to be followed:
- Do not pass the guide in the non Free Ride sections.
- Yellow Line rule on two lane roads must be obeyed. (NEVER EVER to be crossed)
- White Line rule on Muddy Creek and Central Ave (Free Ride section) must be obeyed.
- Slower riders in the Free Ride sections should move to the far right to allow faster riders to go by on the left.
- 2x2 Paceline at all other times. No wheel overlapping of the rider in front.
- The ride will NOT stop for flats. If you are with a friend that flats, we suggest that you stop and ride in with them. Be sure to know the route and how to short cut or get back to the store and how to change a flat.
- NO Headphones or external music devices of any kind allowed.
- Experienced cyclists are asked to help first timers with route info
Cyclist's should have road, gravel or tri bikes in good working order. Hybrids and mountain bikes are not geared to maintain the average speeds. Helmets and flat kits are required. Tail lights are recommended. This is considered a no-drop ride, however, the ride often splits into 2 groups but both will have guides. If you get caught in between groups feel free to wait for the group behind. With the exception of flats, no-one will be left behind.
After the ride everyone is invited down to the All American Steak House for a beer and food, the best part of the evening!

Weekly ride for all abilities from the Store at5:45pm The ride is 27 miles with rolling hills, road or triathlon bike required. Rain generally cancels, please check our FaceBook and Instagram for updates or call the store.

Why not start the holiday weekend with a great ride down to North Beach and back with a rest stop at North Beach? The ride is 50miles and will be a leisurely pace to the rest stop. After the rest stop the ride may get a bit more spirited but there will be plenty of different paced groups to ride with. The cue sheet is above just in case you need it.
The Tuesday July 4th ride starts at 8:00am from the Parvilla Cycle & Multisport parking lot.
